We just received a note from another traveller about a wild fire in Valle de Chacabuco, a place we visited about 10 days ago and told you about. Here is an update:

As we know from living in a place where forest fires are a regular occurrence, fire is part of the natural process, but we hope the crews can gain control quickly and wish them all our best.

Just heard there had been an earthquake in Chile. Let us know that you guys are ok!
The earthquake was on the border with Peru. No worries, we are thousands of kilometres south of there. The only thing we felt was the bumpy ripio.

Spring is fully sproinging here in Van. Flowers galore and the restaurant patios full of people. Still lots of skiing to be done though.
